Pickles and red sauce
Well here it is 9 days away from when we leave on our adventure. I feel I should be getting prepared somehow, like packing or making a list or something, but no, today I put up 14 pints of bread and butter pickles (they are yummy) and made a huge pot of red sauce and meatballs (they are yummy too). Oh well tomorrow is another day. Let me tell you a little about us. I'm a retired social worker, with 2 beautiful daughters and 3 beautiful grandsons and a wonderful husband, who are all very supportive (very important to the dialysis patient). My husband is more than wonderful, he is a gift, we've only been married 5 years (he got more than he bargained for, but accepts it totally). He is a baseball researcher/historian, that's why we live in this Godforsaken part of the country, Cooperstown, N.Y. I love him so, he has planned this entire trip, all the dialysis stops, the timing, the phone calls back and forth, the communication with my social worker. Yes, a lot of work. All because we want to see this wonderful country of ours, meet the people out there, experience the characters we hope to meet, smell the scents, touch the rocks in Utah, see the Grand Canyon, hear the different dialects. Yes all of it, I want to share with you, so stay tuned.
