Yep, I haven't written since I had coffee with George, Tom, Teddy, and Abe. My first look at Mt. Rushmore was awesome, so massive, George I think was the most impressive, so dead on in the details. I hope everyone has the chance to see it. After Mt. Rushmore we headed on in to Cody, WY, a nice little town where we plan to stay for a few days, our base camp to Yellowstone, where we spent all day on Sunday. What can I say about Yellowstone? Mmm...Absolutely beautiful , a huge expanse of incredible landscape, majestic mountains, scenic lakes and lots and lots of buffaloes. I was happy to see so many buffaloes roaming in large groups all over the place. On the way out of the park, the park ranger was actually herding them out of road with his SUV so traffic could pass. It was a magnificent trip to Yellowstone on Sunday, and we are heading back through there to the Grant Tetons today. I can't wait.
Yesterday I had my first dialysis treatment in Cody, and all went well, once we found the unit. The treatment was in the local hospital, so we stopped in on Sunday to find out exactly where it was (they usually put the dialysis unit in the back, in the least germy part). We were told they had moved to their new location (we were told all summer that they were in the process) a few miles away. Okay good, we now knew where to go. Wrong, we were misinformed, we showed up on time at the new unit, nobody was there, so back to the hospital we went, not a soul around, what? It was Labor Day. Gabriel finally found someone in the Emergency room, who gave us directions to the unit, at the opposite end of the hospital, of course. We made it and I had a wonderful treatment. The nurses were very apologetic and sweet, and very professional. I go back tomorrow, and we know where we are going this time, yippee.
While I was at dialysis my super husband did laundry, ran errands, and had a good lunch at a Chinese buffet (which he loves and I stay away from, too much salt). After the dialysis I was starving, so we went to get a bite, then walked around Cody. We watched a show, a gunfight on the street in front of the Irma Saloon, that was a hoot. I'm sorry I got ahead of myself. I left out our trip Monday morning to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, which was great. I'll let Gabriel tell you more about that in his blog, he's so much better at describing all the details than I am. Lots of hugs for now.
